The MicroSnap™ E. coli test kit
is a rapid test for detection and enumeration of E. coli bacteria. The test involves a bioluminogenic test reaction that generates light. This causes enzymes characteristic of E. coli bacteria to react with specialised substrates to produce light. The light-generating signal is then measured in the EnSURE luminometer. Depending on the desired level of detection, MicroSnap E. coli can provide same-day results. This allows you to take corrective action at an early stage. In addition, external laboratory costs can be reduced considerably.
Step-by-step instructions:
- Swab the surface with MicroSnap Coliform/E.coli Enrichment.
- Incubate for 7 hours in the incubator
- Place the incubated enrichment in the MicroSnap Coliform Detection test kit.
- Break the MicroSnap Coliform reagent
- Incubate again for approx. 10 minutes
- Insert MicroSnap Coliform detection into the EnSURE bioluminometer
- Within 15 seconds, the number of RLU is displayed (correlates with the number of CFU).
